Celebrity junk, yoo tewb, the jungle, me and you# 2

Celebrity junk, yoo tewb, the jungle, me and you# 2.

“What you think and what you do determine what becomes of you". Me.

And, and, and, or,  put another way.

“Creator of you life are you through what you think and what you do". Me.

Hellooooooo toooo yooooo,

Read for a minute or two, then if it's of no interest, my apologies.

This is the second post of three  that contain, proverbs and quotes.

They were selected, by me, for you to think about and use to, amplify, guide and simplify, your probably less than satisfactory life.

Yep! Proverbs and quotes.  Don’t laugh!!!!

WHY SO?

It seems to me that too many misguided people allow their  mind and their life to become filled with and overwhelmed by crap stuff.

Stuff that we’re told we just gotta’ know or do to be a ‘somebody’.

Ninety nine per cent, (99%), of  it is, trivial, time wasting, time stealing, life stealing, bull excrement.

Personally, for myself, in all honesty:

I ain’t bleedin’ well interested if celebrity A is going out with celebrity B.

AND

I’ll never think, "The latest craze of putting a video on Yooo Toob, of your dog dancing is a great idea I’ll do it too”.

OR

I don’t spend even one second of my day thinking, “I can’t wait to know which celebrity will l get kicked out of the jungle this evening”.

I was once a freakin’ willing victim of this, ‘fill your mind and life with puke inducing garbage’ non - sense.

Complete waste of my mind - space and my thought - energy

So……… I figured that to live better I needed to think better.

I just had to discover  better 'food for my thoughts.

Information that’ll actually make my life, more meaningful, more ass - kickingly authentic.

Eventually I identified two, quality, limitless,  timeless, sources that offered all that I needed.

I now always got better stuff to think about:

Proverbs and quotes.  Don’t laugh now either!!!!

I’ve been doing this for several years now and it has really guided me to become, more focussed and less confused, about how I think and ‘live’ my life.

So then …….a proverb is:

“A simple and concrete saying, popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or experience”. (Wikipedia)

Can’t argue with that.

“Quotes by respected thinkers have the same, get life - smart thinking advice as proverbs”. (Me)

Wanna argue with this? Hope not.

A proverb example:

“Two heads are better than one".

(Making a decision about anything is usually better with the help of another person). My version.

Makes sense…… yeh?

Below, in Part 1 are, some proverbs, in Part 2 and Part 3 some quotes, that I think are worth you applying to your life.

Well …..any life really.

Read them all, then choose and write down one proverb from Part 1. Write it on a ‘Post It Note’ thingy, stick it, on the fridge, on the bathroom mirror,  and start thinkin’ n’ doin’ that for ten days.

Do the same thing for a quote from Part 2 and Part 3.

That's thirty days and three new ways to learn to think and live different.

Rinse and repeat for as long as you want. Some of it'll stick.

Change your thinking and you'll change your life.

I have.

Part 1. Proverbs. (My interpretations in brackets)

"Better late than never".
(Try to do things on time. If you can't, do it late, but do it).

"There's no such thing as a free lunch".
(Things that are free always have a hidden cost).

"You can't always get what you want".
(Don't whine and complain if what you wanted didn't happen).

"Actions speak louder than words".
(Just saying that you'll do something doesn't mean much. Actually doing it does).

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
(Don't try to improve something that already works O.K. Because you'll probably end up causing problems).

Part 2. Quotes from respected thinkers.

“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience”.   Mark Twain

“A brainiac notices everything, an ignoramus comments about everything”.  Heinrich Heine

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish”. Euripides

“Stupid people will mistake your confidence for arrogance”.  Habeeb Akande

Part 3. Quotes from a mega thinker, S.O. Crates.

(A.K.A. Socrates).        Thankfully, he is on Yoo Tewb.

“Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have laboured hard for”.

“I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think”.

“Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people”.

“Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings so that you shall come easily by what others have laboured

“The mind is everything; what you think you become”.

"It is better to change an opinion than to persist in a wrong one”.

Mankind is made of two kinds of people: wise people who know they're fools, and fools who think they are wise”.

“I am likely to be wiser than he, to this great extent, I do not think I know what I do not know”.

“Intelligent individuals learn from every thing and every one. The stupid already think that they have all the answers”.

“Life without enquiry is not worth living”.

No P.S. this week either. Same advice as last week though.

Hope this all helps, honest,

Phil (The Mind Man).
