WHAT  TO THINK AND DO TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU WILL FAIL!

SEE BELOW!

Hello and welcome,

If you have read any of my posts you know that there are ways of thinking and doing that create a life of growth and positive self-evolution. Equally there are ways of thinking and doing that stop you from improving, evolving growing and succeeding.

With this in mind do everything you can to avoid thinking thoughts such as those in the list below. Even if you think them don’t ‘do’ them. Think and do the quotes in blue. They come from ‘those who know best’.

Some lessons on how to make sure that you WILL fail:

1.You think, procrastinate.

The ‘Law of Diminishing Intent’ states that if you don’t take action soon after the idea strikes you and the emotion is high, fairly soon the urgency starts to diminish. And the longer you wait, the less likely it is that you will start.

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy”. ~ Wayne Gretzky.

2.You think ‘perfectionist’.

Perfection does not exist. It is only a great excuse not to get started. Do your best; strive to be good; strive to become better than you were yesterday; but forget perfection. Why? Because you, me, nobody, will never achieve perfection.

Just get started and you will improve bit by bit, day after day.  Don’t wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’

“Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along”. ~ Napoleon Hill

3.You think, “I’ll avoid taking responsibility”.

Accept full responsibility for every single thing that happens in your life. Don’t blame others. Don’t blame circumstances. Don’t blame what you lack. And definitely don’t blame your luck. You will always have choices to make in every situation, and these choices will always have consequences. Take charge.

“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul/mind/thoughts”. ~ William Ernest Henley. (Words in black added by me)

4.You think, “I’m afraid of criticism”.

If you want to achieve anything great or different, expect some criticism. Learn to handle it. There is kind of criticism that helps and a kind that you should discard. Not all criticism    .

Don’t let the fear of criticism stop you from doing what you want to do. You do not have to please everyone. This is a sure route to failure. It’s your life, your mission! Just do it!

“To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing”. ~ Aristotle.

5.Your thinking lacks originality and creativity.

You need to be YOUnique if you want to stand out. Dare to be different! ‘Borrow’ ideas and inspiration from others. But in the end, be your authentic and genuine self.

“Trusting your individual uniqueness challenges you to lay yourself open”. ~ James Broughton

6.You think, “I can’t……………………..”.

“He who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right” (Confucius). Drop all your self-limiting thoughts. The only limits you set for yourself are all in your mind. Change your mind. Only you can do it! You already have everything it takes to grow your life. (You know what they are by now, don’t you)?

"Whether you think, I can, or you think, I can't, you'll be right". Henry Ford

7.You think, “I can’t do consistency”.

Consistency is crucial to your success. Develop the habit of showing up all the time, whether you feel like it or not. Professional people don’t make excuses.

Come up with a system for yourself and make sure you stick with it. Deciding to exercise five minutes a day and succeeding is far more satisfying because you are training your mind to be strong through doing what you say/think you will do. Mental toughness/discipline consistency will always achieve more than   short-term intensity.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit”. ~ Aristotle.

8.You think, "I can’t be better”.

Successful people understand that there is a need to improve their skills all the time. They have realized that once they stop, they will fall behind the competition. To become an overcomer in your personal or business life you have to keep growing. That’s how plants do it! Grow or die!” When you stop thinking and doing,  ‘learning growing  and evolving’  you begin to fail at life.

“Your level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development”. ~ Jim Rohn.

9.You think, “Be afraid of failure”.

Do things for success, but expect failure along the way. Failures are life’s way of you discovering the best in you. If you are too afraid to fail, then don’t start. To initially have some fear or level of anxious anticipation is natural when attempting something new. However don’t be too discouraged when you do fail. Personal and life growth are not about how many times you fall, but about how many times you’re willing to get up and try again. Think “I will do ………. as many times as it takes”.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default”. ~ J.K. Rowling.

How to 'think and do' to succeed.

All of the above are thought and action, barriers to success. Don’t 'think and do' these life -threatening, self- sabotaging and dream- destroying examples. You now know what not to think and do. Pick just one of them and focus all your thinking and doing on overcoming it for a week, then choose another until you have destroyed them all

Why I think and do what I do.

I don’t write my posts to entertain. My existence on this planet is to serve and inspire others to think and do in ways that ‘empower’ themselves.

Hoping that I have in some way contributed to your future, 'success thinking and doing'.

Beneficially yours, always,

Phil.
