Hello and welcome,

I was born in Liverpool, so of course I am a ‘Beatles’ fan and saw them at ‘The Cavern’ in their early years. All of their songs and those of other musicians have messages for each of us.

From John and Dionne. John Lennon said/wrote ‘Imagine’, great lyrics, but you need to follow that with thoughts and actions. Why? Because, “What you think and what you do determine what becomes of you”. Just ‘imagining’ something will never make it happen.

The song, ‘Wishin’ and Hopin’, sung by Dionne Warwick, goes like this:

Wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' Plannin' and dreamin' each night of his charms .

That won't get you into his arms.

So if you're lookin' to find, love you can share

All you gotta do is Hold him and kiss him and love him And show him that you care.

Show him that you care just for him .  Do the things he likes to do.

Wear your hair just for him, 'cause You won't get him Thinkin' and a-prayin' Wishin' and hopin'.

Yeah, just do it and after you do.

You will be his, you will be his , you will be his.

You can imagine yourself as rich, famous, healthy and in a happy relationship with your spouse, brothers and sisters and your children etc. great! The problem is that imagining, wishin’, hopin’, thinkin’, and plannin’ won’t ensure that what you want will ever become  part of your life. Some people do believe in prayin’ of course. But in reality as the Burt Bacharach lyric above says ‘you gotta, do’.

Success is an inside-outside process. What you think (inside) has to be supported by what you do (outside). Choose which thoughts to act on, create with them, make them become real through taking action.   Live the life you choose to create for yourself. You have the tools, your thoughts and your actions, you just don’t know, yet, how to use them effectively. Why is this? Because no school college university on earth has a course on how to understand, control and apply the power of your mind through your thoughts and actions. My posts and my books and my website were written to enable people to learn how to do this effectively, simply and controllably.

You co-create your life. You're in charge of your own reality. The only part of ourselves that we each have a high degree of control over is our conscious mind and its products, our thoughts. This control is through, assessing and the decision to act or not. Any and every thought you have you can assess as either good or bad. A thought is just a thought until we decide to act on it, or not. That decision is yours to make, no one else can do it for you. If you act on the right thoughts your life will grow and evolve positively. If you act on the wrong thoughts your life will be correspondingly bad. The only one who is responsible for this is YOU. Not your dog, your best friend, not your poverty- ridden childhood, not your sister, not your brother or anything else from your past. JUST YOU, BOTH NOW and IN THE FUTURE!

From me! I had really difficult childhood as did my three younger sisters and my brother. One of my sisters married a small- time criminal, her choice. Another sister was divorced in 1967 and is still on her own.  My third sister is married,  Her husband has had a difficult employment history from being made redundant three times but he has always managed to think of some way or another to do whatever it took to support his family. They live in a nice detached house, have an almost new car. My brother went to a Technical College, thought and then did something, he decided to go into the world of computer hardware/systems. After man years of hard work he now earns in excess of £500.000 a year, his house, worth around £750,000 is paid for and he drives a brand new Jaguar car. I left school age fifteen with no qualifications.  My working life began as a Postman then joined the Royal Air Force as an electrician. While in the RAF I thought and decided to study for ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels I gained a place at university and spent 22 years as a College Lecturer.

My point? My brothers and sisters and I grew up in the same environment but we all ended up with very different life styles and standards of living. I have looked back over my life many, many, times and I always come to the same conclusion. What I  and each of my brothers and sisters ‘thought and then did’ created our individual lives. To remind you I sum it up like this. “What you think and what you do, determines what becomes of you”.

Learn it, accept it then take responsibility for your life knowing that whatever happens today and in your future is within your control, through your thoughts and your actions. No person, you, me, or anyone else, can control every aspect of our life but if you accept my statement above then you can overcome whatever life throws at you by applying it and accepting responsibility for your thoughts and your actions.

Beneficially yours, always,

Phil Soffé
