BELOW IS WHAT I THINK! WHAT ABOUT YOU ?
"A man is the product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes". Mahatma Gandhi. (I'm certain that he also intended this statement to apply to women).
What you THINK and what you DO,
Determine what becomes of you. Me.
Below is What I Think! ----- What about You?
Hello and welcome,
Read all of this post, the few minutes you spend will make you a stronger, more capable, better informed person and because it will work wonders for your life!
Let me tell you a story!
A teenager goes out for the evening and at about half past nine he’s feeling bored. He’s walking along a road with cars parked all the way along it. After about five minutes he breaks into one of the cars, ‘hot wires’ it and starts a session of driving around the streets at speeds way over the speed limit. At one point he drives through a set of traffic lights that are on red.
Just after driving through the lights he is followed by a Police Patrol Car. The chase continues for about ten minutes and eventually the Police Patrol Car forces the ‘joy rider’ to a stop.
Some weeks later the teenager is in court and is found guilty of various driving offences, one of which is driving without insurance. When given the opportunity to make some kind of plea for leniency he mentions his Dad not living at home, his mother being unemployed and him not getting on with his brother and sister. This is not his first offence of this kind and he is fined £100 and given several hours of Community Service.
He leaves court looking sorry for himself and later that evening he is in his local pub moaning to his mates, and anyone else who will listen, about how badly he has been treated.
This is what I think about the story.
Everything that took place was his fault. Not his Dad, not his Mother not his pet snake or his brother and sister. He had no one to blame but himself.
Why do I think this? At every stage of this latest escapade (and any previous ones) he had to THINK before he ACTED (Did anything). Each time he had a thought, such as “I’m bored I’ll nick somebody’s car”. “I’ll drive around at 60 miles an hour”. “I’ll go through these red traffic lights”. He had the choice to act on each of the thoughts he had or not! Each act was a decision he made to ‘follow through on/act on' each of the thoughts he had. Nobody other than himself was responsible for his actions. Everything that he did was his fault, his responsibility and he deserved the punishment he received!
If he had NOT acted on the thoughts he had then none of what happened would have happened. His life would not have been AFFECTED in a negative way. As result of his actions he CREATED an EFFECT in his life that could have been avoided by either, 1) Thinking differently or , 2) NOT acting on the thoughts he had.
My point is THIS. The person had a choice at every stage of what took place to either re-think or not act on his thoughts.
Nobody else in the world was responsible for his latest, or earlier, anti-social, dangerous to others, immature escapades, JUST HIMSELF! He totally deserved everything he got as punishment.
The theme in the story above applies to all of us.
Our thinking and what we do in response to our thoughts is our responsibility, nobody else’s. We are the creators of our own world through what we THINK and DO every day of our life.
It all comes down to this. We each THINK and DO and then HAVE effects in our life, that we created.
