BECOME YOUR OWN ‘THINKING BUDDY’
"A man is the product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes". Mahatma Gandhi. (I'm certain that he also intended this statement to apply to women).
"Some know about The Way, few actually walk it". Bodhidharma
Hello and welcome,
By reading all of this post the few minutes you spend will make you a stronger, more capable and better informed person!
Things will never be the way we would like them to be all of the time. For example we all suffer from ill health at some time or another.
If you get ill you go to your doctor and ask:
1. What’s wrong with me?
2. Why am I ill?
3. What will make me better?
4. What do I have to do to get well?
First the doctor diagnoses the problem. Next he/she finds the CAUSE. Then a cure is identified. Finally the doctor prescribes the medicine of gives the treatment that will make you well again.
Conscious/Right THINKING and DOING is like a good doctor.
Ask yourself the following questions and answer honestly!
What are the problems in my life?
Why is my life this way?
How can I make it better?
What do I have to THINK and DO to HAVE a better life?
You have now become your own 'life doctor'!
This process applies directly to , YOUR life, MY life and the lives of YOUR family and friends. In fact to the life of every person in the world. By using this process you can, 1. 'Self - diagnose' your own life problems through honest, sensible and conscious thinking about what is wrong in your life. 2. Having found the causes you can understand why things are wrong in your life. 3.Then you can find ways to create a better life through BETTER THINKING and ACTING. 4. If you actually THINK ABOUT and DO these things you will CREATE and HAVE a better life.
It’s as simple as THINK-DO-HAVE.
None of us can avoid death but we can find happiness while we are alive through friendship, family , sensible use of finances and a healthy body and mind.
Did you know? No two corn flakes look the same.
Most of us suffer in life because of two main things, ignorance and the wrong kind of greed. Through knowledge we can overcome the first and then we can also overcome the second. Most people are ignorant of the laws that govern the use of our thoughts and are greedy for the wrong kind of pleasures in life. We THINK and DO things that are harmful to both ourselves and others, both mentally and physically. We cause distress to mind and body. These thoughts and actions CAUSE us and others, to suffer. YOU, ME, ANYONE can learn to avoid this pain!
To end our own suffering, of most kinds, we need to overcome our ignorance of, how our thoughts and actions work and our desire for the wrong kind of satisfaction in life.
The answer to ending suffering for us is to know how best to, THINK and then DO in order to CREATE and HAVE a more productive and happy life.
Below are eight ways of thinking and doing that make certain that you enjoy the best that life has to offer.
Right View. Think of, act in, and view life with wisdom and compassion.
Right Thought. You are what you think. Good thoughts build a ‘good you’ and a good life.
Right Speech. By thinking and speaking optimistic and helpful words we become trusted and respected by others.
Right Conduct. You can think whatever we like but others know you through what you SAY and DO.
Right Living. This means choosing a way of life that does not hurt others.
Right effort. Living a creative life means doing your best at all times and not wasting your energy on thoughts and actions that harm ourselves or others.
Right Mindfulness. This means learning to be aware of and responsible for your thoughts and actions.
Right Concentration. If you focus your thoughts one object/task/ thing at a time. You then become calm and attain true peace of mind.
These rules can be compared to cultivating your garden. Your mind is the soil and your thoughts are seeds. The way we care for the garden is important. Our wrong thoughts are weeds. Pulling them out is like weeding a garden. The harvest is, real and lasting life development and all that comes from following that path. Oops perhaps path was not the right word to use but you know what I mean and it does fit with the analogy.
This is, cultivating, your THINKING and DOING with wisdom, about yourself and life.
By following these eight THINKING and DOING rules you will cultivate a successful, happy and satisfying life.
Always working to help others to think better and become more than they currently are. Thanks for reading!
Always determined to be.
