Your Thoughts! Your responsibility! Your Life!
“The proliferation of ‘things’ of all kinds and 'lives' of all kinds presents one unbroken chain of evidence in support of the fact that man is the maker of his own destiny; and his thoughts and acts are the tools with which he does the making”. Albert Einstein.
"A man is the product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes". Mahatma Gandhi. (I'm certain that he also intended this statement to apply to women).
What you think and what you do, Determine what becomes of you! Me
Hello and welcome,
If you read all of this post the few minutes you spend will make you a stronger, more capable and better informed person!
Getting off my butt and exercising for half an hour a day, for the last ten years, eating veggies, low - fat spreads, skimmed milk, only white meat, drinking weak tea and coffee, the occasional bottle of red wine, eating only wholemeal bread, using Demerara sugar in my tea and coffee, (I have found it very difficult to give up sugar) - and a few other sensible thinking and doing choices has contributed to the healthy life I currently enjoy. Because I THINK and DO good my life is good! The two things go together!
It’s as simple as THINK. DO. HAVE.
Your stomach doesn’t really care, or know, what you put into it as long as it is full of something. The thing that really decides what we eat is our mouth, or rather our taste buds.
If you think of food in terms of taste only and think:”I’ll eat X instead of Y because X tastes better”, pretty soon you will need to buy the next size up jeans. Why? Because the food that ‘tastes better’ also contains the things that will make you put on weight.
Eat it because it’s got great taste,
and most of it will go to your waist!
A diet based on taste alone will kill you.
How long does what you eat stay in your mouth? A minute, how long does it stay in your stomach, an hour or so. In your body? FOREVER!
OK, I've got involved in the healthy eating and exercise area but the same applies to anything you think and do. Everything you think and do will have an effect on your life. Where you are now, what weight you are, what job you do, the car you drive and everything else in your life now was caused by YOUR past thinking and doing. Nobody else made you think and do what you did.
No, don’t make excuses, the responsibility for what you think, and what you do in response to our thoughts is yours alone.
No ‘buck – passing’, no I couldn’t help it, I didn’t realise what I was doing!
Your life will continue in a certain way until you change your thinking and doing. So thinking, "I’ll eat one less burger a day, one less cup of coffee and one less sugar loaded drink "will cause you to stop putting on weight. Add a little exercise to your life and in six months you will be a changed person.
It ain’t rocket science.
I'm a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) kind of guy. Why make everything so complicated? If you take drugs, eat too much, don't exercise, rob other people's houses, steal cars and go joy riding you are a fool to yourself and a nuisance to others. You don't have to think and do these things! Who forced you to think these thoughts and carry out the actions? YOU, no one else, just, YOU! When you have the thoughts you and only you, have the choice to act on them or not. YOUR thoughts! YOUR actions! YOUR decisions! Not mine or anyone elses. What happened was your fault! Don't blame your kids, your dog (if you have one), the person next door, the Government, Global Warming or your upbringing!
The same process applies to everything you do. If you think that, watching TV every night, doing the bingo once a week and 'chewing the fat' with your mates five nights a week in the pub will improve your life in any significant way, then you are kidding yourself.
Some time ago I began to assess how my thoughts were affecting my life and what those effects would do to my future. All effects have a cause and the two most powerful things that create effects in our lives are What we THINK, and what we DO in response to any thought that we have.!
I occasionally have a bottle of wine and I mean occasionally, I smoke one or two cigarettes a day, honestly. Well in reality I smoke a packet of twenty cigarettes over a week then I stop smoking for a week. I used to smoke twenty a day.
If I drank a bottle of wine and smoked twenty cigarettes a day then I would be THINKING and DOING things that are of no benefit to me. What I actually do is not ideal but then I could become a saint and be very miserable.
It wasn’t difficult for me to think about the consequences of and then changing my thoughts and my actions. I ain’t perfect and I never will be but I am not as imperfect as I could be if I didn’t apply a little sensible thought and action into my life!
All my posts give you relevant, sensible and valuable information. This should allow you to make an informed decision about whether the information in my books is also likely to be of help and interest to you.
What you think and do causes effects to take place in you and in your life! CAUSE and EFFECT is the most obvious, yet the most misused process we all 'sort of understand' but never put to use in our life.
At this point in time I have probably outstayed my welcome so will finish by writing that there will be many more posts for you to read, think about and do something about. YOUR CHOICE. YOUR DECISION. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Did you know? The brand 'Nokia' is named after a place in Southern Finland!
I will always be honest, sensible, helpful and encouraging to all my readers because that is the sort of guy I have always been and will continue to be until I go to the great blogosphere in the sky.
My objective is “Changing people one thought at a time. Changing the world one person at a time”. Me
If you think that any of your friends would be interested in the information in my Posts please let them know. I will appreciate your help and they will probably thank you for letting them know.
